About Mesonia
Mesonia: Perfectionists in Cosmetics
What if you saw "product of Ukraine" on a cosmetic label? Many brands boast of being products of France, Swiss, or German quality. What could become a signature Ukrainian product?
Mesonia calls itself a perfectionist in cosmetics. For six years, the Ukrainian couple Duiko invested in developing world-class cosmetics — certainly a leader's ambition.
Mesonia had a soft launch in Ukraine, but only now can this truly niche brand of unique Ukrainian-made cosmetics be seen on Kyiv billboards and finally be freely purchased. With over 15 years of experience in the industry and their own factory near Kyiv, after six years of perfecting the product, Sofiya and Andriy put a full stop in R&D and boldly launched the brand.
“Anything we use every day should be of the best quality we can afford. Our cosmetics are genuine luxury but at an affordable price.
I know very few brands that spend as much time and resources on product development before launch as we do. After two and a half years, my husband was ready to launch. As you can see, I won twice as much time, but we made a product I can be truly proud of.
Most do the opposite. Some choose to look like a foreign product with an office in Ukraine. Others claim the product is Ukrainian, although it’s made elsewhere, and only the label is Ukrainian. There are many options, and to each their own, but that’s not us.
We could have sold our developments to many well-known brands, but our plan is to build our own long-lasting story, not remain behind the scenes. We are truly about perfectionism, where the perfect product comes first, and marketing comes later.
I’ve tried, it seems, every cool cosmetic product possible to have something to compare with. Our Mesonia is a product I made for my own. Believe me, it’s a lot of work, effort, and, in our case, heart. It’s the best of what’s possible and even more because we made care products of this level for the whole family.
The only thing we have not yet mastered in Ukraine at the highest level is perfume compositions. Therefore, they were created for us by well-known studios in Switzerland, France, England, and Saudi Arabia. We plan to develop this direction in the coming years until we are ready to transition to our own scents.
Right now, I worry only about one thing — we already have all the necessary products, and it’s now harder to create new ones. But I am absolutely confident in what we have done and know that we will find our audience, and soon our fan club will be noticeable,” says Sofiya Duiko.
The Mesonia factory was built near Kyiv. It is equipped and certified to the highest international standards, even those not required in Ukraine. Among the suppliers are Mibelle Biochemistry and DSM from Switzerland, Spanish Vitrous Biotech, BASF from Germany, and Vintage from the United States — essentially, global leaders in raw materials for luxury cosmetics.
The ingredients include special components typically available only in the most expensive price segments. For example, silk amino acids from Italy and Brazilian PRO.LISS 100 — a well-known professional and exclusive technology that significantly improves hair structure. Or SYN-AKE from Switzerland — probably the world's best muscle-relaxing peptide for wrinkle smoothing. Moreover, Mesonia is one of the few that use stem cell actives, unique peptides, or prebiotics like Baby Biome. Rich vitamin complexes, various stabilized forms of Vitamin C, Niacinamide, Omega-3, and many other advanced ingredients.
Google any of these to understand how pleasantly surprised we were to learn that such production has become possible in Ukraine and that Ukrainian business now has an underdog with global ambitions.
“We have five children, and now one more favorite new business — Mesonia, which feels like the sixth child. And this is a special moment in our history.
I know how important the first impression is and how easy it is to speak words but how crucial it is to stand behind them. We stand by our name for what we want to present to you. Try Mesonia. All feedback, questions, and hopefully, compliments — come to me,” Sofiya jokes.
The Duiko family reminds us of the Italian family Dolce&Gabbana. Probably because they aim to build a business they will leave to their dynasty, but also for their style, boldness, and ambition. We are watching from the front row as a new story begins. We recommend it.
