Why Your Facial Skin May Need a Balm

Чому вашій шкірі обличчя потрібен бальзам

A facial balm is a concentrated, lipid-rich product designed to reduce moisture loss and protect skin that feels dry, tight, or exposed to cold and wind. Unlike a lightweight cream, a balm usually forms a more noticeable protective layer.

What does a facial balm do?

Balms contain emollient and occlusive ingredients that soften rough areas and help limit transepidermal water loss. They are especially useful when the skin barrier feels compromised or when ordinary moisturiser is not enough.

Who may benefit?

  • dry or very dry skin;
  • skin exposed to wind, cold, heating, or air conditioning;
  • rough areas around the nose, cheeks, or lips;
  • skin that feels uncomfortable after active cosmetic products.

Oily skin can also use balm selectively, but a heavy layer over the entire face may feel excessive. Apply it only where additional protection is needed.

How to use a balm

  1. Cleanse gently.
  2. Apply toner or serum if included in your routine.
  3. Warm a small amount of balm between the fingertips.
  4. Press it onto dry areas as the final evening step.

A balm does not replace sunscreen and should not be used to “seal in” irritating products. If redness, burning, or persistent flaking continues, consult a dermatologist.

The Mesonia facial balm is designed to provide nourishing, protective care and can be introduced gradually according to the skin’s needs.
